The assessment of the 2018 vintage from the pest control and vinification points of view, the importance of proper rootstock selection, the optimisation of light utilisation, the nutrient content of the grape juice and its impact on fermentation dynamics and grapevine trunk diseases were some of the topics of the 5th Professional Day for Viticulturists and Winemakers, organised and hosted by the Tokaj Wine Region's Research Institute for Viticulture and Oenology, on 6th March. As usual, local winemakers and estate managers turned up in decent numbers to attend the event at Tarcal's Hatputtonyos Borfalu [Six Puttonyos Wine Village in EN].
